The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) launched Heritage Month on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra. The event brought together key stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality industries.
GTA CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto emphasized incorporating Ghanaian culture into tourism and hospitality offerings. She encouraged hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs to feature local cuisine and drinks, and tour operators to package cultural and historical tours. Mrs Houadjeto also highlighted the importance of local music, and public-private sector collaboration.
She also noted that the Black Star Experience will revolutionize Ghana’s tourism landscape, drive economic growth, create job opportunities, and rebrand Ghana as a premier tourism destination.
Exciting events lined up for Heritage Month include Ghana Music Month, Heritage Caravan, Made in Ghana Rave, Akwaaba Festival, Taste 68 @ 68 Food Fair, Ghana Culture Week, Showbiz A-Z (Spotlight on the Ga People), Gob3 Festival, and Back To Your Village Festival
