About Heritage Month 2025
As part of plans to promote domestic tourism and create awareness about Ghana’s culture, the Ghana Tourism Authority has launched the 2025 Heritage Month to be observed throughout the month of March. The Ghana Tourism Authority ‘Heritage Month’ celebrates Ghana’s unique cultural and historical heritage.

1st – 31st March | Media Engagements and Partnerships | Media Houses Across the country | To sensitize the general public on the need to appreciate our heritage in respect of our many cultures, traditions, beliefs as well as patronize made in Ghana products. The Head Office and Regional Offices of the GTA will partner various media houses to create awareness through the domestic marketing campaigns, “See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, Feel Ghana”.

1st – 31stMarch | Ghana Music Month | Musicians Union of Ghana | The celebration aims to spotlight and promote Ghanaian music, urging media houses across the country to patronize local content throughout the month. It is a call on Ghanaians to take pride in the country’s rich musical heritage. MUSIGA to initiate dedication of more airtime by media houses to Ghanaian music. Ghana Music Month will feature various events including live performances, panel discussions,and social media campaigns to promote the contributions of Ghanaian musicians to the global stage. It seeks to encourage DJ’s, event organisers, and music lovers to push Ghanaian music to the forefront. |
2nd – 9thMarch | Heritage Caravan | 14 Regions of Ghana (In One Week) | The Heritage Caravan is organized by CITI FM / Channel One TV in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority. It is dubbed, “The Road Trip Of A Lifetime”. Spanning eight (8) days, the Heritage Caravan will take participants affectionately called, “Caravanites” through 14 of Ghana’s diverse regions, offering an immersive experience of the nation’s cultural, historical and natural treasures. The regions include Greater Accra, Volta, Northern, Upper East, Oti, Savannah, Bono, Ashanti, Western, Central, etc. The Heritage Caravan is designed to cater for participants from all walks of life, creating a space for camaraderie, learning and discovery. |
6th March | Made in Ghana Rave | AQ3 Centre, Diamond Hills (Kwadaso) | The event is organized by Yfm 102.5. it will feature a celebration of Ghana’s rich heritage through music, fashion, entertainment, games and cul;tural pride. |
6th – 8thMarch | Akwaaba Festival | National Theatre, Accra | The 3 day Tourism, Arts and Culture festival is organized by Ceejay Multimedia in collaboration and partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Ghana Tourism Authority, National Commission on Culture, MUSIGA, etc. under the theme, “Telling the rich history and traditions of the Ghanaian culture and hospitality. There will be exhibitions and sales of Ghanaian arts and craft, traditional textiles and accessories, food and local beverages and more. It includes 2 days of free Music Concert by MUSIGA. An evening of entertainment dubbed “Akwaaba Night” will climax the 3 day festival – it involves cultural dances by the Ghana Dance Ensemble, Wear Ghana Fashion show,etc. Akwaaba Black Star Awards will honour personalities for their exceptional contributions to the upliftment of Ghana’s tourism and culture. Miss Akwaaba 2025 is a 13-week tourism and cultural beauty pageant reality show. Akwaaba festival aims at showcasing Ghana’s rich, diverse historical, traditional and cultural heritage to the world to boost the local economy. |
14th March | Taste 68 @ 68 Food Fair | Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP), Accra | The food fair, an initiative of the Ghana Tourism Authoritywill showcase sixtry-eight (68) traditional and contemporary Ghanaian dishes, highlight the country’s rich agricultural produce and create business opportunities for food entrepreneurs. The food fair will feature food stalls, cooking competitions, performances and cultural exhibitions. The fair will showcase a wide variety of local dishes, traditional cooking techniques and ingredients. It will help boost local tourism , encourage agribusiness and sustainability, foster cultural exchange and celebrate cultural diversity |
10th – 14thMarch | Ghana Culture Week | Kofi Annan ICT, Ridge – Accra | The Ghana Culture Week, formerly Ghana Culture Day was initiated by the Ghana Culture Forum. It is celebrated every year with activities such as a symposium on a relevant theme and an artistic emporium to showcase works on cultural expressions. The event brings together cultural practitioners, activists and organisations to the symposium. |
15th March | Showbiz A-Z (Spotlight on the Ga People) | Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP)

The event will be organised by Joy Fm themed, “The Journey of the Ga people : Their Role in Shaping Tourism and the Creative Economy”. A representative of the KNMP, GTA , Ga Historian and other stakeholders in the cultural and creative industries will be empanelled for the conversation. Focus will be on principal Ga customs and traditions like funeral rites, naming ceremonies, chieftaincy, marriage ceremonies. Showbiz A – Z will explore the history of the Ga people and its influence on tourism, arts and culture |
22ndMarch | Gob3 Festival | @ Legon City Mall, Accra Mall | The Gob3 Festival organized by 3fm 92.7fm seeks to bring together vendors of the favourite “Gari and Beans” to showcase their food with breathtaking experiences. |
29th – 30thMarch | Back To Your Village Food Festival (Bazaar) | Forecourt of Accra Metropolitan Assembly
