Tsenku (Chenku) Waterfall also called Wuruduwurudu Fall is located in the Dodowa Forest near the Shai Hills Wildlife Reserve in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Tsenku waterfall is 39km from the capital city of Accra and it is the only waterfall in the Region.
This beautiful Tsenku waterfall drop from a height of about 250 feet, running on stratified rocks into a cool, clean and clear pool with a large tilapia population. The Tsenku stream is joined by two other streams “Sanyade” and “Popotsi” before meandering into the sea. The most impressive thing about Tsenku waterfall is the huge, exposed rocks within the valley of the small Popotsi stream.
There is a beautiful rock wall with a little cave under. This rock wall displays vividly the principle of syncline/anticline folds that indicative of the massive forces that twisted the rocks during their formative years.
The surrounding (once sacred but seriously denuded forest) is named after the Tsenku god whose shrine can be seen at Obosomase.
