The diaspora community have the potential to contribute immensely to national development. Most of these contributions are in the form of remittances, direct investments as well as transferable knowledge, skills, talents, and networks which are essential to the development of a contemporary and knowledge-based economy.
The diaspora community have expressed willingness to relocate to Ghana especially after the success of the Year of Return initiative. Most are ready to work or set up businesses aimed at contributing towards the national development of Ghana. Therefore, Diaspora Investment Desk of the GIPC seeks to organize the Diaspora Business Breakfast Meeting.
The meeting is expected to be a convergence of diasporas with skills, technical know-how and capital, who are ready and willing to invest in the Ghanaian economy to support the Government of Ghana’s Ghana Beyond Aid agenda and also re-integrate members of the diaspora into the Ghanaian economy and to inject new skills and capital into the Ghanaian business landscape.
