Ghana set to Launch Destination Ghana Tourism campaign

All is set for Ghana to showcase it’s numerous tourist attractions and opportunities to the world as it launches an 18 month ” Destination Ghana” tourism campaign targeting the UK and European travel markets.  The launch event slated for April 3, 2022  at the Canary Wharf Riverside Plaza will be graced by the President of the Country, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. This program will bring together tour and travel trade businesses from Ghana and the UK and key media from both countries.
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Ghana Tourism Authority will on the day provide a Taste of Ghana to patrons and highlight Ghana’s credentials as the centre of the world with rich cultural experiences, a destination for adventure, fun, entertainment,  leisure and a hotbed of sustainable ecotourism.
In the build-up to the launch and immediately after, series of B2B meetings and stakeholder engagements will be embarked on. The country will also launch a series of advertising campaigns on key international media outlets and provide platforms for Ghanaian Tour operators to reach out to UK and European based operators.
With the COVID- 19 situation  stabilizing around the world and the Government’s ease of travel restrictions, the Ghana Tourism Authority believes it is time to re-engage key source markets as it seeks to increase international arrivals.  Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are H. E Papa Owusu Ankomah, Ghana High Commissioner to UK, UK High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E Mrs. Harriet Thompson World Bank Country Director to Ghana, H.E Mr. Pierre Laporte, UK Trade Envoy to Ghana, Baroness Hoey of Lylehill & Rathlin, Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the  Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture,
Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal and Councillor Maria Lovell MBE. A cross section of UK based Ghanaian celebrities have also been invited to grace the occasion.
